OVERVIEW
The Diagnostic Imaging Systems Applied Engineering Diploma - Diagnostic X-Ray Maintenance is authorized and approved by the State of Ohio, State Board of proprietary School Registration (Registration Number 94-05-1398T).
The program provides academic preparation and training for career-oriented diagnostic imaging service specialists in the maintenance of systems in diagnostic radiology.
Technology advancements in diagnostic imaging have created a demand for highly qualified individuals who can perform complex maintenance and image quality assurance analysis for major hospitals and medical centers throughout the world. To meet this demand, our program prepares graduates to develop, direct and implement diagnostic imaging systems maintenance, image quality assurance and compliance programs.
This program also prepares its graduates to develop an supervise diagnostic imaging equipment management programs.
Graduates serve the private and public sectors as diagnostic imaging technical consultants, maintenance and service specialists, and quality assurance managers.
CURRICULUM
The Diagnostic Imaging Systems Applied Engineering Diploma - Diagnostic X-Ray Maintenance Diploma Program is a 29 semester credit hour program. The curriculum comprises 21 hours of core courses, with associated practicum, and eight hours of electives.
FORMAT
Full time students can expect to complete the two semester program in one year. A part time program is available to accommodate out of state students and others who are unable to attend on a full time basis.
THERE IS NO MAXIMUM TIME REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM.
ADMISSION
A student wishing to enroll in DITEC's Diagnostic Imaging Systems Applied Engineering Diploma - Diagnostic X-Ray Maintenance Diploma Program must complete an "Application for Enrollment" Form. Upon receipt of the completed application, and a $100 application fee, applicants will receive a personalized curriculum requirements guide. This document will detail placement status, sequential listing of course requirements, tuition costs, policies and procedures, and contractual agreements.
SPECIAL DISPENSATION
Applicants with demonstrated specialized training, or unique backgrounds and life experiences, may submit a written request for special dispensation to the Curriculum Evaluation Board.
Requests for special dispensation must be accompanied by supporting documentation and must specifically request the Criterion Based Competency Examination for the challenged course. A $50 non-refundable Competency Exam Fee must be submitted with each request.
The curriculum Evaluation Board will arrange for an examination proctor and award full credit upon satisfactory completion of the Competency Exam. The appropriate Certificate of Completion will be issued upon receipt of the $100 Credit Award Fee.
If a challenged course requires a practicum, the practicum must be fully and satisfactorily completed in accordance with course curriculum requirements. The Practicum Processing Fee for challenge courses is $50.
Without exception, each student enrolled in the program must meet the eight credit hour residency requirement to receive the diploma.
Examples of life experiences which may apply are military schools, on the job training, college courses, and technical schools.
